Tattoo Art Heart Designs

There are many meanings attached to the tattoo heart designs. Some have a personal meaning such as a heart with their loved one's name on it. When tattoos became popular for sailors many years ago, especially during times of war, they would get a heart tattoo with 'mother' or 'mom' on it to bring them comfort while overseas.
Sometimes you will see a heart tattoo with a sword or knife through it which can translate to courage or overcoming great difficulties.

There is also the sacred heart tattoo which is representative of religion and the belief in Christ of the wearer.
The heart shaped American flag has become quite popular as a sign of patriotism and it is especially popular during a time of war.

A lot of people will get a heart tattoo with their boyfriend or girlfriend's name on them. Of course, the problem with this is if they break up and are left with a permanent reminder, although they can be removed or inked in to avoid embarrassing situations. So think carefully before you have someone's name put on your heart tattoo.
You need to also be careful of using the broken heart tattoo as this usually symbolizes sadness or having a broken heart. Just remember that you probably won't always be sad or brokenhearted forever and will not want to be explaining your broken heart tattoo to everyone for the rest of your life. In the end, this is probably one that would have to be removed or inked in.

When you get your heart tattoo choose one that represents your personality or lifestyle views. Just be careful when deciding to put someone's name on your heart in case your feelings change over time for that person or someone else replaces them in your affections.
If you are trying to decide what kind of tattoo to get, let your 'heart' be your guide.
